Candles

Dream By Lolita – I often have small undetailed dreams such as: 1. I can only remember seeing a gold, squared shape key. 2. I see a wall rack, made of black metal and it is full of  lit candles. It falls off the wall (in slow motion), breaking all the candle holders and causing a fire. Could these mean anything?

Reply by Sowelu – Hi Lolita!! You said ”I can only remember seeing a gold, squared shape key”.
Gold often indicates something Divinely bestowed, a treasure within. Key would symbolize an inner awareness that opens door to all truth, wisdom and knowledge.

Square can sometimes indicate being boxed in or too controlled, yet it can also indicate balance of the 4 bodies (mental, physical, emotional and ethereal/spiritual) or the 4 elements (earth, air, fire and water). Four is indicative of the heart, as well, which is the access path to that place within where treasures reside.
You said “I see a wall rack, made of black metal and it is full of lit candles. It falls off the wall (in slow motion), breaking all the candle holders and causing a fire”.

Metal can point to strength and durability, as well as a hard, cold and unfeeling quality in the dreamer. Shelves on walls often point to something that’s been put off or literally “put on a shelf” until a later time. The black of the metal indicates that you may not be aware that you’ve shelved anything, or that what you’ve shelved is a part of you that you’re not aware exists, or don’t realize the fullness of its existence.

Candles typically refer to our own inner light (another reference to what lies within you), and this is what you’ve had “shelved”, it seems.

Fire often represents the idea of purification or purging or cleansing of what is false (often refers to belief systems), no longer needed, so that you may open to higher knowledge. It’s also a reference to one’s life force (kundalini idea), and that it causes this cleansing as it rises in us.

The sense I get from these two simple symbols is that you’re being told that you have a depth of wisdom/knowledge within you that you have not yet fully accessed, and the way (the key) to accessing it is to purify or cleanse your emotions and false beliefs, which have been repressed thus far.

The particular emotions being referred to is not clear, but it seems you may not even be aware you’ve done this suppression, so the simple idea that there IS an emotional depth to explore may be what’s most important. In my experience, belief systems tend to get built upon emotions, so as you explore your emotional depths in some regard, you may also let go of beliefs you’ve held that have served to maintain the emotional suppression.

Hope that helps! Namasté, Sowelu
