Rape

Dream By Scooby - I was hoping maybe someone could help me to try and understand these dreams. Since the summer that just passed I have had dreams about drowning, a snake bite and a snake wrapping tightly around me to the point I wake up trying to breath.

The latest dream im having is that I’m being raped but can’t see the face. Are these some kind of warnings?Any help would be helpful.

Reply By Sowelu – Hi Scooby Dreams such as these are warnings in a sense… in my view they are messages alerting you to an emotional and/or mental status being experienced or “suffered” in daily life.
Worms are likely your own negative thoughts and feelings, snakes are often indicative of your own life force… how it behaves in the dreams indicates what you’re “doing to yourself” in some fashion.
Essentially, our experiences begin within ourselves, in our thoughts, feelings, beliefs and attitudes. Most of us push away our thoughts and feelings and continue to try living at an appearance level of “everything’s just fine”.

The world/paradigm of energy we live in, takes it’s cue from our own inner suppressed energies, and manifests circumstances to show us what we hold within and what we’re doing to ourselves through unresolved emotions and beliefs, attitudes or thoughts patterns, as well as behaviors, that harm us.
This “showing us” may occur through relationships where someone in our environment displays the attitudes, thoughts, feelings or behaviors that we suppress within ourselves (or fear), causing pain and suffering. In this way, we get the opportunity to see it tangibly outside of us and make a conscious choice to let it go, move forward from it or simply confront it.

Rape is a power event, not truly a sexual one, though the power is often exerted, and we become dominated, through sexual violence. This energy (power) stems from the 2nd chakra (just below the navel), and is most concerned with how we relate to others and the world around us, including what we allow to dominate us.
Further, rape is often an expression of two forces meeting each other: in the feminine self it is the sense of victimhood being expressed, and in the masculine self it is the predator being expressed. We each have both feminine and masculine energy within our total self energy make-up.
A dream showing you getting raped may very well be saying that your thoughts or beliefs or fears are such that they victimize you emotionally. They don’t allow true expression of your emotions and feelings, thereby dominating you to the point of harm. Most of us “think our way to suppression” of our true feelings and authentic being everyday.

In your environment this inner status of suppressed energy may be displayed or shown to you “out here in the outer world” by having a male close to you who behaves or verbalizes in a domineering and/or violent manner, not honoring your feelings.
Incidentally, it can also display in a female in your midst. A female who reveres the mind and the outer world over the inner self and “sensitive” side. This is because it is a negative masculine energy, not necessarily (though often) males or men, that is dominating in your energies, creating disharmony, lack of balance, and often dis-ease.

“Negative masculine energy” is most often self-abusing or negative thoughts about self, which get their “juice” or inspiration from old “learned” feelings of unworthiness. Someone in your environment may well “show you yourself” by treating you poorly through verbal or physical denegration to some degree. In one of those dreams, it’s literally suffocating you.

If I were having dreams of this nature, I would start a serious course of emotional healing. There are likely old emotions, taken on in childhood most often, that are influencing your thoughts of who and how you are today, your worthiness, your value and self esteem. Ignoring or denying
that we carry deep emotional scars does not free us of their influence, unfortunately.

When we’ve grown enough that we are mature and wise enough, going back and readdressing events that caused those scars in our early years can do wonders to free us up in our present to finally experience a joyful, creative life that honors our true Self (the Self that is lying underneath the layers of pain that need to be released).

That’s my view, take what fits, toss the rest!  Blessings to you in discovering the life meaning in your dream messages!
Namasté, Sowelu
