Being Chased

Dream By Kelly - I have had three similar dreams, they are not quite nightmares but they are a little frightening, but also exciting at the same time.

The first dream was about escaping from prision, I had people after me, so I had to keep hiding in railway stations, peoples houses and hiding in crowds.

The second was in my college where a person with a gun shot someone in the head and then turned to me, I had to run away very quickly jump in a car and flee.

The third was of an army invasion in a town, they shot the engine of my three wheeler so I couldnt go any where and imprisioned me. I escaped from there capture, but they chased after me and eventially caught up with me. Any Ideas?

Reply By Dream Patient - Hi there, Generally speaking its hard to be specific when dreams are recorded objectively like that. One of the most crucial elements in them is your feeling response all along the way and the small changes that happen. I don’t think it’s the big gesture but the tiny little image choices which help us. (Isn’t this the same in a painting or on stage? The work of art is best when each part of the image is carefully and lovingly drawn or acted.

This is true even when the image or energy is angry or negative in other ways. The painting/play/dream contains it and will not let it hurt the audience/viewer/dreaming ego.

So, generally, it appears that there is a general enlightenment in the dreams as they go on. In the third you are told that the danger to your ego was when you were three. Your vehicle, what let you first feel power as a child, and perhaps what it would be like as an adult is destroyed.

The male/father/and mother’s opinion influences on you were like an army for you. They shot at you and killed your engine, the power in your vehicle. This destuctive influence came from family and social ideas about maleness and power and affected you deeply. In fact, they imprisoned you. In one dream the injury is to the head of another element in you. This suggests it hurt your ability to think for yourself too.

A lot in you has suffered for a long time from the ideas and energy of what you experienced as the life view and energies of the father and of men. Now you cannot go where you want to go. You are suffocating inside in important ways and feel as though you are in prison.

If the real dream was told, there would be an element in it showing you how the best move might be in response to this onslaught. I see one possible clue.

Hiding in a crowd, in places where everyone travels (trains). These are the choices your ego has made to avoid being hurt. But no one can avoid the inluences which formed them. No one anywhere. That would be an effort like trying to grow 5 inches shorter if you are tall or grow a smaller nose if you have one which is big. Those early influences are there. Period.

Everyone has one choice. To run away or to face the reality. Once a person chooses not to run, the choices open up considerably! It depends on what happens. No one can predict this. But I think that what is “for sure” is that the whole person which is in us (or god, or life) is moved by love in us and for us.

So, if you could stop hiding from the ways you have been hurt, from those influences, and come to know what they are like, and what they said to you and did to your “threewheeler” (power) when you were little, then some lost energy and joy in life will come back to you. You will be let out of prison.

Best of luck. Dream Patient
